Description: **We take health and safety seriously. In order to help protect other volunteers, Habitat homeowners, and staff, please do not volunteer at the build site if you are experiencing the following symptoms: fever, cough, fatigue, sore throat, or difficulty breathing.

Instructions: Volunteer shifts are from 9:00 am to 3:30pm Tuesday to Saturday. Please arrive by 8:55am to sign in.

Volunteers must be 16 or older to work on a Habitat construction site. All volunteers must sign a Waiver of Liability Form. Volunteers ages 16-17 must have the co-signature of a parent or guardian.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR HABITAT VOLUNTEERS:

1. Pack a lunch and beverage.

2. In case of inclement weather, we will email all participants by 7:15am the day of the build.

3. Please be aware of NO PARKING signs. Parking is available on Nelson Street or surrounding streets.
4. Plan to stay for the entire day. If you must leave early, please inform the Director of Family Services and Volunteer Engagement or Construction Supervisor ahead of time.

5. Wear clothing appropriate to the weather and working conditions. Your clothes may get stained or dirty. Wear hard-soled shoes. Absolutely no sandals or open-toed or open-backed shoes, no Birkenstocks, clogs or Crocs!

7. For safety reasons, use of cell phones/text messaging must be during a break only.

8. Tools are provided on site, but feel free to bring your own tool belt equipped with hammer, tape measure, pencil, etc. We recommend bringing only items that can be kept on your person. Put your name on your tools with a Sharpie pen to avoid losing them. Bring work gloves if you have them.

9. Always put safety first for yourself and others..

10. When in doubt about a task, ask the construction manager.

11. Please help out with end of the day clean up by returning all Habitat tools, gloves, safety masks, etc. to their proper place.

12. Be sure to gather all your belongings before leaving the site.
