We're looking for volunteers to help Danville-Pittsylvania County Habitat for Humanity as we move closer toward completion of our first phase in our England Trail project. Gain experience with all aspects of construction. No previous experience is necessary, just a willing heart!
These homes are funded through multiple community partners including the Alexander Berkeley Carrington Jr. and Ruth Simpson Carrington Charitable Trust, City of Danville HOME funds, the Community Foundation of the Dan River Region, the Philip N. Daly, Sr. and Frances K. Daly Trust, the Kiwanis Foundation, United Way of Danville and Pittsylvania County, the Womack Foundation, and West Piedmont Planning District Commission. This project would not be possible without the support and involvement of St. Lukes United Methodist Church, who graciously donated the land for England Trail and funded the first home built in this project.
Our current schedule for the construction site is Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 8:30am -2;30pm.
Construction Volunteers: Arrive at 8:30 AM for sign in and safety orientation. We will post any weather-related closures on the Volunteer Scheduling Site by 7:00 am the day of the build.
Volunteers must be 16 years old or older. Minors between the ages of 16 and 18 must have a parent or guardian's signature on their waiver.
Bring a water bottle, sunscreen, closed-toe shoes, and dress weather appropriate. Volunteers should bring their own lunch.
Habitat provides all of the tools, but you are welcome to bring your own belt if desired.
